Kip White, owner and CEO of American Insurance, opened his first insurance agency in 1990. At the time he was a captive agent with a large insurance carrier, this meant he could only represent them. Kip felt he could provide better service to his clients if he was able to represent several insurance companies.
In 1996, he took a leap of faith and dissolved his agreement with the captive carrier to become an independent agent. Shortly there after, he was appointed with Erie Insurance. Today American Insurance represents over 9 different A rated or better companies. Having the ability to continually monitor the market place and offer our policyholders the highest quality insurance at the best possible rate just seems the neighborly thing to do.
Our Approach
When Hurricane Irene hit Maryland, the agents at American Insurance drove to the office as soon as the winds subsided. With telephone and power lines downed and roads closed, agents made extraordinary efforts to contact insureds who may have suffered a loss. American Insurance believes this quick and caring response should not just be isolated to extraordinary circumstances, such as hurricanes, but also for the everyday losses that occur in our clients lives. While a policyholder’s car accident or kitchen fire in their home may not be newsworthy – it is still catastrophic to them!
American Insurance is committed to maintaining high ethical standards. You can be certain our agents will be conscientious, forthright, and thorough. Before any of our agents would sell you a policy they would first educate you on what you were purchasing.
